Hi, I’m Justin Dion. I was a lawyer for 13 years before I realized I was in the wrong helping profession. My passion for advocacy, my listening and observation skills, and my analytical curiosity are now channeled into helping people find and embrace the best versions of themselves.
I bring a diverse set of life experiences and tools to the therapeutic setting. I utilize a person-centered approach to therapy, using skills from CBT and DBT training when appropriate, and often conceptualizing challenges through an existential or narrative lens. I love working in and with and for the LGBTQ+ community, particularly in relational therapy settings — helping couples, throuples, and polycules build healthy, fulfilling, sustainable relationships.
I love counseling folks who are curious and open-minded about themselves and the world around them. Who are ready and willing to try new things to improve their mental and emotional health. Who have fonts of bravery and resilience they might not have tapped into yet. Like uncut gemstones; not yet fully aware of the ways in which they can shine.
Oftentimes the people who walk through my door are facing shortfalls in self-concept or relational satisfaction, an inability to effectuate meaningful lifestyle changes, or uncertainty in terms of goals or direction. These core struggles manifest in lots of different ways. But through our work together, they can begin to create more happy, healthy relationships, improve their self-confidence, and identify medium and long term goals and align their actions with them.
In the first few sessions, I want to learn about your story: what shaped your experiences, how you experience life now, and where you want to be in the future. And I want to work with you to create clear, measurable goals for our therapeutic work together.
And then I want us to roll up our sleeves and get to work together. To explore, to challenge ourselves to understand, to try new things. To intentionally and purposefully build a happier, healthier, more fulfilled version of you.
Let’s get started.
